Opening Doors

A Shelter to His People – An Open Door to His Word

HANDICAP RENOVATION PROJECT 2009

Beginning back in mid 2007 the people of Gibson Memorial UMC began studying and planning for a way to make the church facility fully handicap accessible and structurally sound.  We are pleased to announce that a plan which provides for roof repair and an addition which will accommodate an elevator, handicap accessible restroom facilities, and upstairs ramping to merge the education wing and sanctuary has been approved by the District and The Duke Endowment.  The total estimated cost of the project is nearly $291,00.00 of which 50% will be covered by a generous grant from The Duke Endowment.

Below are the initial renderings of this industrious project:

We praise God for the opportunity to open new doors to our community.

We are thankful too for the hard work and generosity of Gibson family and friends.
